Founding Story

Rebel Fitness Studio was born from our founder’s own fitness journey. After losing over 100 pounds, she developed a passion for helping people regain their self-love, body positivity, and empowerment... but most importantly, their confidence. From grass in the park to a full boutique studio, Rebel has grown into a fit-family — built from the ground up by a local woman who walked the same journey.

Our Vision

To be a community-driven studio that fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment, where every-BODY feels welcomed, supported, and strong.

Our Mission

To deliver everything you need in one membership: Small-group fitness, Yoga, Hot Yoga, and Aerial training — with smaller classes, real instruction, body-positive coaching, and free community sessions so anyone in Hendricks County can access wellness.

Tiffany Bates

Owner & Lead Instructor

I didn’t start Rebel Studio as a traditional fitness facility—I started it as a group of people who simply wanted to move together. It began in the park, laughing, sweating, and supporting one another, and it grew into something much bigger than fitness alone. I haven’t always lived a “healthy lifestyle,” and I’ll never be a bikini model—and that’s exactly the point. There was a time when I weighed nearly 300 pounds and felt deeply uncomfortable walking into a gym. I was embarrassed, sore, unhappy, and at one point, even laughed at by a personal trainer. That experience stayed with me. Through my own journey toward self-acceptance, I discovered body-positive fitness—movement that nourishes not just the body, but the mind and soul as well. Fitness became less about changing myself and more about honoring myself. Getting a little better each day. Learning to respect and love my body along the way. As Rebel Studio grew, I connected with some of the most incredible instructors—people who lifted me, challenged me, and helped bring this vision to life. Most importantly, I’m surrounded by instructors who feel more like family and members who inspire me daily. With the constant support of my silent (not-so-silent) partner—my husband, Charles—I’ve been able to turn my love for community into Rebel Studio: a place where everyone belongs. At Rebel Studio, we rebel against the gym stereotype. All sizes. All ages. All abilities. We are a veteran-backed, woman-owned local business rooted in inclusion, empowerment, and community support—both inside and outside our walls. You’ll find me at the studio—taking classes, teaching classes, and connecting with people. Rebel Studio is my heart, and I strive to reflect that in everything I do. Outside of the studio, I work as the Park Development & Projects Director. I’m a proud mom of three and Mimi to 2 grandkids, and a dog mom to two very elderly gentlemen. My first certification was POUND® Fitness, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Today, I hold over 10 certifications, including POUND, POP Pilates, TRX, PiYo/Piloxing, Functional Fitness, Mat Pilates, Cardio Kickboxing, Yoga for Stretching, Power Flow, Buti, and HotCore by Buti. I’m also a Certified Life Coach.

Meet the Team

Carolyn B.

Instructor

Carolyn is a 200-hour RYT who specializes in Restorative, Slow Flow, Meditation, and Yoga Nidra. She has loved yoga for many years and is passionate about creating a calming, supportive space where others can slow down, reconnect, and grow in their practice.

Claire S.

Instructor

Claire found yoga in 2011 at a time when her body felt tight and her mind felt overwhelmed—and quickly realized she was exactly where she needed to be. What began as a physical practice became a deeply transformative journey. Through asana, breathwork, and meditation, she discovered more ease in her body, more peace in her mind, and more joy in everyday life.

Claire is a 200-hour RYT with additional training in Yin Yoga and Kriya Yoga, studying under Jim Whiteford. Her classes reflect her belief in balance—blending physical challenge with restorative stillness, and always encouraging students to meet themselves with kindness and curiosity.

With a sense of playfulness and heart, Claire creates a supportive environment centered on self-acceptance and unconditional love. During meditations, she also integrates sound and vibrational tools like tuning forks and crystals to deepen the experience. A Navy veteran, she brings both strength and compassion to her teaching and is passionate about helping others find their own path through yoga.

Lori D.

Instructor

With over two decades of practice, Lorie brings both experience and passion to her yoga teaching. After earning her certification in 2015, she continued to explore a wide range of styles, from the fluidity of Vinyasa to the stillness of Yin, as well as hot yoga, slow flow, and Acro.

Her teaching encourages students to move with greater ease and awareness, using breath as a guide to unlock freedom in the body. Grounded yet vibrant, Lorie’s approach reflects her love of life, travel, and connection. As a devoted single mother and world traveler, she brings authenticity, resilience, and joy to every class she leads.

Haylie F.

Instructor

Fun and unconventional. Two words Haylie likes to use to describe herself. She enjoys music, reading, food, and oddities. She has two daughters that keep her busy, and in her spare time she is an educator in a local school district. Haylie started practicing yoga about 12 years ago. Always being curious about what the practice had to offer, the stars aligned and a wonderful journey began. What started as a once a week “me time” turned into a way to help with the anxiety and postpartum depression that had developed after having her daughter. As her practice grew at home, she found that she enjoyed fusing non traditional music into her playlists. Haylie has participated in 200-hr  yoga teacher training in 2016. Haylie currently teaches our online all-levels Vinyasa, but when she is in the studio, she loves to teach Rock & Flow, a yoga class that rocks with a high energy Vinyasa and a playlist full of your favorite rock tunes!

Amy K.

Instructor

Growing up, Amy was always on the move—encouraged to try everything from sports to performance activities. She especially loved baton twirling, cheerleading, and gymnastics, which led to a college cheerleading scholarship.

After college, life got busy with work, family, and raising two boys, and her own well-being took a back seat. In 2016, a spin class with a neighbor changed everything. What started as a goal to get healthier quickly became something much more—a passion for movement, stress relief, and helping others feel their best.

Now certified in POUND, Barre, HIGH Fitness, and as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, she brings energy and encouragement to every class. She lives in Plainfield with her family and works full-time as a Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager,  in the pharmaceutical industry. Outside the gym, Amy loves lifting weights, reading, baking, and cooking.

Sherri W.

Instructor

Sherri’s fitness journey began in her 20s, sparked by an invitation from her sister-in-law to attend a group fitness class. Initially reserved, she soon discovered a newfound joy in movement. What began as a small step evolved into a daily commitment—one that reshaped both her physical health and her mindset.

In her 30s, while caring for her father during his final days, she experienced a profound moment that forever changed her perspective. His admission of an unfulfilled life became a catalyst for transformation. She recognized that fear and self-doubt had kept her from fully living—and chose, in that moment, to change her path.

Embracing growth and courage, she earned her first fitness instructor certification in 2011, a Nutrition Coach certification in 2018, followed by Piyo and Mobility. Her approach reflects a belief that health and wellness are lifelong journeys, built through both movement and mindful nourishment.

Today, Sherri teaches sessions like step aerobics, Piyo, Zumba, Mobility (Bendy, Stretchy, Flexy) and she empowers others to step beyond their own limitations and create lives rooted in strength, confidence, and well-being.

Outside the studio Sherri is a business owner helping people to find grace, confidence and stress reduction through art!

Chastity C.

Instructor

Chastity has proudly called Heritage Lake, just west of Danville, Indiana, home since 2000, where she lives with her husband, Aaron. She has two children and one new grandbaby. While naturally action-driven, she has come to value the balance and calm that a quiet day at the lake provides.

Raised in a family that prioritized an active lifestyle—including horseback riding and school sports—Chastity developed an early appreciation for fitness. Her mother (who has also been a Rebel member) played a key role in shaping her passion, introducing her to her first STEP class and teaching her the importance of balanced nutrition. Chastity believes that maintaining health through movement, nutrition, and self-care is essential to supporting all areas of life.

She began teaching group fitness in 2013, earning certifications in Turbo Kick and PiYo, and has since expanded to nine different fitness formats. Chastity brings energy, authenticity, and variety to every class, creating an experience that is welcoming, fun, motivating—and just the right amount of challenging.

Katie D.

Instructor

Katie is a lifelong Hendricks County resident, proudly calling Avon her hometown and now living in Lizton, Indiana with her husband of 20+ years and their son, Cray.

Her passion for fitness was inspired at a young age by her father, who introduced her to the importance of an active lifestyle and even created a garage gym to support others in their fitness journeys. Carrying on that legacy, Katie brings that same dedication and heart to her work as a personal trainer.

She believes fitness is the foundation for longevity, resilience, and overall well-being. Constantly pursuing growth, Katie holds multiple certifications, including NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Cycle, POUND, Sculpt, Power, Nutrition Specialist, Rock Steady Boxing, and SilverSneakers.

Katie is passionate about helping others feel strong and capable, and she considers it a true privilege to turn her passion for fitness into a career.

Candy T.

Instructor

Candy’s journey is one of strength, transformation, and resilience. A former three-sport athlete from Michigan, she moved to Indiana in 2008 and later made courageous life changes—quitting alcohol in 2019 and smoking in 2020.

While navigating those changes, she gained weight but found her way back to herself through Hot Yoga and HIIT Pilates. These practices helped her regain confidence, strength, and a deeper connection to her body.

After moving to Danville in 2022 and joining Fire Fitness, Candy found a supportive community that fueled her passion even more. She discovered aerial yoga in 2023 and was instantly hooked.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis in late 2023, Candy faced surgeries and recovery with determination. Today, she’s back, stronger than ever, and excited to share her journey—encouraging others to embrace their own strength and never give up. She also likes to rock out now and then.

Carrie S.

Instructor

If you’ve taken a class with Carrie, you know she brings more than just movement—she brings intention, energy, and heart to everything she does.

Outside the studio, Carrie is the co-founder of a women-led consulting business, a marketing and comms partner for Crane Builders (her partner’s construction firm), and still shows up with the most grounding presence on the mat and love for her clients.

She’s the definition of strength—in body, mind, and leadership—and we’re so proud to have her as part of our Rebel and Fire Fitness family. Carrie specializes in Barre, Mat Pilates, and Yoga - and smiles.

Maria B.

Instructor

Maria discovered her love for teaching yoga during the quiet pause of the COVID shutdown, when she completed her 200-hour Hatha-focused yoga teacher training. Her classes blend slow Vinyasa flow, restorative and supported postures, and the meditative roots of traditional Hatha, creating an experience that feels grounding, accessible, and intentional. She believes yoga should meet people where they are, and her teaching reflects that—gentle, steady, and welcoming. You’ll often find her practicing Slow Flow, though she loves pushing herself in a good power class too.

Off the mat, Maria is an adventurer at heart. Her bucket list includes visiting every national park, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and standing at the top of Machu Picchu. When she’s not exploring, she’s usually hiking, tackling home renovation projects, or rewatching Gilmore Girls with a cozy cup of something warm.

Katie W.

Instructor

Meet Katie, our Barre-ista! With a passion for health, fitness, and helping others live authentically, Katie has built her life around movement, coaching, and mentorship.

Her barre classes are anything but ordinary—combining stretching, strengthening, and just the right amount of shake. She’s known for her energizing mantra: “You can do anything for 10 seconds.”

Expect a class that challenges you in new ways, leaves you feeling strong, and maybe even craving more. And don’t worry—this is one “hang-under” you’ll actually love. No regrets here, just real, satisfying results

David F.

Instructor

David began his yoga journey in 2016 and earned his 200-hour yoga instructor certification in 2024. He enjoys both practicing and teaching Vinyasa and Yin, valuing the balance they bring between strength, mobility, and stillness. David is passionate about the mental and physical benefits of yoga and is committed to creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where students of all levels feel comfortable and supported. In addition to teaching yoga, David is also an educator by profession, bringing patience, clarity, and encouragement into every class he leads. Outside the studio, he enjoys playing drums and spending time hiking.
